Right Hand Drive (e.g. UK & Australia) steering quick rack & pinion with 2.4 turns lock to lock. Manufactured by Quaife Engineering, the motorsport drivetrain specialists. Fits steering racks manufactured by Cam Gears Italia as an upgrade to the original 3.1 turns lock to lock unit. Note: the later production of this rack type was branded T.R.W. Italia, but is fully compatible. Applicable to the RHD factory racks fitted to FIAT X1/9 1300 & early 1500 models, as well as Lancia Montecarlo S1 & S2 models. 2.4 turns lock-to-lock; RIGHT Hand Drive; Manufactured in the UK; Accepts early M14 x 1mm & late M12 x 1.5mm track rod inners for the FIAT X1/9 as well as the standard M14 x 1.5mm Lancia Montecarlo S1 & S2 type; Compatible with Cam Gears Italia / T.R.W. Italia production variants; Shipped with our own fitting guide; Always confirm which steering rack you have before ordering as a different year replacement may have been fitted in the past. The Cam Gears Italia and T.R.W. Italia steering rack variants are identified by brand marked housings with codes of 21663 and 71306 respectively - the pinion is retained with a flange plate secured using two 10mm headed bolts. Includes new SS055 pinion seal, SS060 gasket and SS059 shims, plus SS058 rack adjustment shims and SS054 thrust block O-ring. You may also require steering rack bush SS013 (standard) or SS043 (polyurethane) and gaiter kit SS009B. Important: This rack and pinion upgrade is not suitable for later era steering racks manufactured as FIAT or TRW brands which have the pinion retained with a 38mm lock ring with either a raised or recessed 22mm hex head. The compatible Cam Gears Italia / T.R.W. Italia steering racks use non-adjustable inner track rod knuckles and the use of adjustable inner track rod knuckles found on other model variants is not supported.
